back when my hair was black! This sign was done while I worked for Steve Hosmer (circa 1986?). He had
owned Stokes Signs of Santa Cruz just a few years at that point, and we had had a good-natured contest to see
who could paint a better sign. Very subjective "judging" -we each thought our own sign was the better of the two!
The plywood sign employs a combination of vinyl graphics and hand-painted characters & dingbats from Atkinson's
1900s book of sign painting.
